The Groups Module (TTXGroups) is an add-on software. The module is not required in order to setup and use the free Trouble Ticket Express help desk software. The TTXGroups is an enhancement module, which allows assigning an operator to one or more groups. You may define an unlimited number of groups to put together operators, who are responsible for similar tasks. The division may be department based (e.g. Billing, Sales, Customer Service), product centric (Shared Hosting, Dedicated Server, Collocation), skill related (Tier1, Tier2, Supervisor).
If Group Mode is enabled (this requires the Groups Module to be installed on your server), the Trouble Ticket Express will place a group selector drop down menu on a standard ticket submission form. This will ensure that each new ticket is being designated to appropriate group and only members of that group will receive new ticket notifications. Furthermore, operators will be provided with an option to transfer a ticket to a group, rather than to a particular employee.
Important! If Group Mode is enabled, the 'grp' form input becomes mandatory. You will need to update your custom templates to have the input. This could be achieved in 2 ways:
1) using GROUPSEL macro
2) using your own html code, e.g.
Note that value is one of group1, group2, ... groupN, as per Group Manager page. Do not use group label (such as Billing or Sales) here.
Please do not order any add-on modules prior to installation of the Trouble Ticket Express software on your server. The add-on modules do not require re-installing the software; the script will sense and begin using new modules automatically. In other words, make sure you were able to install the free base module before ordering add-on packages.
Make sure you have Trouble Ticket Express rel.2.18 or newer on your server.
